Summary:
Composer, improvisor, laptop-musician og trombonist. Educates trombonist at the Rhythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen 1990. 2-years studies in composition at the same place 1998.

Has composed music for a large range of various ensemble types and situations: bigband, chamber music, mobile soundart for boombox ensemble, multichannel loudspeaker orchestras, interactive compositions for the web (Flash-programming) and solo laptop. As performing musician he has been playing with musicians like Axel Dörner, Mats Gustafsson, Lotte Anker, Philipp Wachsmann, Arve Henriksen, Staffan Svenson, Carla Bley & Steve Swallow, Pierre Dørge ao. Is represented on numerous CD-, vinyl- and digital releases.

Experiences with music and the arts of dance/performance, for example: Europas Ran (1995) og Visit (1999). Around 2001 he switched main instrument from trombone to laptop (MaxMSP).

The vibrations and spirits, inhabiting the surroundings of the deserted railway tracks in conjunction with a former Railway Workshop I Malmö, lays the grounds for this site specific, quadrophonic composition.

- Concepts of Pilots (2023) 15′11″
This composition is the first result of cross disciplinary meeting between electroacoustic, acousmatic, spatial music, particle physics and aerosol technology. The ideas and material for this work are developed in an interactive exchange of concepts and between scientists and composers.
Accepted models of various phenomena in the respective fields of the participants, are questioned and explored through four-dimensional, electronic, acousmatic compositions, in interaction with scientific models, in an intense and nuanced experience of spatial music and sound creating new frameworks that can mutually inspire.

Alarm112:
ALARM112 gave it's last performance in november 2002. Mediaensemble ALARM112, was formed in february 1995, it's an orchestra working in a field of soundart, concerts, performance, internet and multimedia. ALARM112 is continously developing in a process of free flow, with ears wide open for the possibilities of the present instance. Any sound is regarded as potential music. Both brand new and obsolete technologies, as well as acoustic, electric and electronic instruments applies.

The Orchestra:
From 1992 trombonist and composer for the bigband "TheOrchestra", during 93 - 95 also co-leader for the band. The Orchestra has been touring in Scandinavia performed at Montereux Jazzfestival, Copenhagen Jazzfestival, Aberdeen International Youth Festival and Edinburg International Jazzfestival, besides doing radioperformances for Swedish and Danish Radioes. Producer of the CD "Not as Softly as.." (MusicMeccaCD1043-2). Since 1996 The Orchestra have been granted status of special ensemble by the Danish Music Council.

With Peter Skov Kragh, co-creator of the multimedia performance "Europas Ran", performed 6 times during march 1995 at 'Den Anden Opera' Copenhagen. Performance with The Orchestra, 7 dancers and 1 actor.
In Europas Ran Jakob Riis was composer, conductor and co-producer.
